Alessandro is an Italian professor of baroque music living in Strasbourg with his daughter Irina in mid-teenage crisis, and his brother Crampone, a delightfully eccentric anarchist who has repeatedly applied for refugee status since Berlusconi’s rise to power.
Alessandro sometimes feels like he’s raising two teenagers: Irina, 15, is striving for independence which makes the relationship with her father difficult, and Crampone, who is in his 40s but very far from independent. However at the same time, Alessandro is unable to acknowledge the void of his own existence.
In trying too hard to be a model single father – following the tragic death of Irina’s mother, the love of his life – Alessandro has not focussed enough on himself, nor rebuilding his own love life. Now, as his daughter discovers the thrill of first love, Alessandro’s life is unexpectedly and dramatically transformed.
Starring the amazing Anouk Aimée and Clotilde Coureau, this moving film takes us on a journey through the streets of beautiful Strasbourg.
