Grandson of a rugby legend, son of a rugby legend and himself a rugby legend, Jo Canavaro (Gérard Lanvin) is raising his 13 year-old son Tom on his own after the death of his wife, in a small village in the south west of France.
Naturally, Jo would also love for his son to become a rugby star but much to his disappointment, Tom is as good at maths as he is bad on the rugby field. For Jo, the family legend cannot end now, even if the local rugby team facilities have been sold by the municipality to be turned into factory storage. Supported by an old friend - recently back after spending many years in New Zealand - Jo is ready to start a new team just for Tom and to prove to his teen enemy that he is not a loser.
Poignant, funny and generous, this first movie by Philippe Guillard stars the charismatic Gérard Lanvin in a moving performance.
“This film reminds us of a pleasant lesson: the best way to go forward in life is to pass the ball” -
